- Hythiol C Plus EX is a drug that treats age spots and freckles by using the amino acid L-cysteine, which helps the body's metabolism, to work on cells from within the body. L-cysteine normalizes the regeneration of skin cells, and its synergistic effect with vitamin C eliminates excess melanin, which is the cause of age spots and freckles.
